Welcome to VitaFriends
Dear VitaFriends,
The Vitaflo team hopes that you are all enjoying the summer and staying cool as you relish the remaining weeks of warm weather before school is back in session! Our team has had great experiences getting to meet and work with some of you at the various activities and events that took place in the metabolic community this summer, and we look forward to seeing many more of you at local events in the coming months!
This exciting edition of the VitaFriends newsletter offers a lot of useful information, as you will learn about a unique and exciting program recently implemented at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago called "PKU Boot Camp" and their successful efforts to offer additional support and education to adults managing PKU. And for those of you still planning to go on a summer vacation or have an upcoming trip, you will get helpful tips from some VitaFriends members who provide advice for managing your diet while traveling on the road, and guidance for taking your medical formula on an airplane. You'll also enjoy getting some fun and festive low-protein recipes, updates from the National PKU Alliance, and info on upcoming events!
Be sure to also check out our Website and take advantage of all the convenient resources, and share any information, stories, ideas, etc. on our Facebook page! www.Facebook.com/Vitaflo.
Enjoy reading this edition, and we'll look forward to communicating again in the Fall!
From the Vitaflo USA Team

The goal was to offer an educational opportunity outside of a routine clinic appointment to further emphasize the importance of treatment adherence and to build upon skills to effectively manage this condition.
