Dosage and Administration

• Dosage of HCU express should be determined by the clinician or dietitian
• The daily protein requirement is given as HCU express (100g is equivalent to 60g of protein).
• Additional protein is provided from natural protein sources in medically prescribed quantities to provide methionine in controlled amounts, which is essential for normal development.
• Foods high in carbohydrate and fat but low in protein should be provided as an energy source to supply the remainder of daily calories.

Guidelines for Preparation and Use

1. Empty the contents of a sachet into a beaker (provided), and add a FlavourPac sachet if desired. Add cold water to about half way up the beaker (approximately 80ml).  Secure the lid and shake for 10 seconds.  Serve and drink immediately.
2. Water or permitted drinks should be taken after the HCU express. 
3. Cover and refrigerate any unused formula.  Use prepared formula within 24 hours.  Shake well before serving.
